Day 122

We’re staying here in Parry Sound until Wednesday to provision and enjoy the Canada Day festivities. The Town of Parry Sound is about 2 hours North of Toronto and is the commercial hub to 30,000 year round residents and 60,000 seasonal residents. Seasonal residents spend the summers here in cottages on little islands and lining the shores of Georgian Bay. Parry Sound has a nice downtown a few blocks from the marina.

We spent the morning catching up on laundry, walking to town to the ATM and a stop for Butter Tarts (of course). Then we took a taxi to Sobey’s Supermarket and the Beer Store. Grocery stores will be few and far between in Georgian Bay and the North Channel.

This afternoon Ken and Kathy (Meandering) came by in their dinghy. We traveled with them for a couple of days on the East coast. They completed their loop and they now live in Parry Sound.

Tomorrow is the Canada Day celebration and the Marina started filling up this afternoon. There are lots of activities planned for tomorrow including Live Music most of the day and fireworks. It should be a fun day.
